These images of Princess Diana of Wales are very iconic because she was seen holding/touching/talking to people with aids. No one wanted to talk about aids or address the subject, and Diana knew she was so much in the public eye that she could change the perception on the disease. People were lead to believe that you could catch aids by touching someone, however you can only catch it through the transfer of blood and mucus. These iconic images of Princess Diana changed peoples perceptions of the disease and gave the disease a much higher awareness and possibly had long term effects of noticing aids and advancing the science and research of treating it.
